🌿 Join the “Weed Trimming Team” for 2026

As a valued member of the Houghton Lake Sportsmen’s Club we all have work hours requirements as part of our membership. One of the best ways to complete those hours—and make a big difference—is by joining the Weed Trimming Team!

Why We Need You

We’re proud to have one of the best-looking range facilities in the state. Keeping it that way takes consistent effort—especially during the summer months. Just trimming the property alone takes nearly ten hours to complete, and in 2025 that work was handled by only a few members.

This year, we’re aiming to build a team of at least six volunteers who can each bring their gas-powered trimmers and work together on scheduled trimming days. Each volunteer will be assigned a section of the property to maintain.

Team Plan & Schedule

The trimming days are scheduled to ensure the club grounds look their best for our four planned pistol matches and the three major holidays. Each session is designed to take under two hours per volunteer. Doug Hall will mow after trimming is completed.

Dates may shift slightly based on weather conditions.
