Membership Work Hours
As members of the Houghton Lake Sportsmen’s Club, we all share the responsibility of maintaining and improving our facilities. Volunteering is not only essential to keeping the club running smoothly—it’s also a great way to get involved, meet fellow members, and make a difference.
Here are some ways you can contribute your work hours:
- Attend Monthly Membership Meetings: Earn 1 hour for attending; members must sign in to receive credit.
- Trash Duties: Collect the trash up throughout the Range and put it into the HLSC Dumpster. Please combine bags when possible!
- Provide Snacks for Meetings: Members earn 3 work hours for making or supplying treats for the monthly meeting.
- Indoor Maintenance:
- Mop range floors
- Clean range benches
- Wash windows
- Outdoor Maintenance: Participate in any grounds cleanup or landscaping tasks.
- League Support:
- Setup for Steel Challenge League – Tuesdays at 3:00 p.m.
- Setup for USPSA League – Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m.
- Event Support:
- Raffle ticket sales at gun shows
- Work at the annual Sight-In Days event, where a full day of service can satisfy your annual requirement.
- Organized Workgroups: Throughout the year, range workgroups are scheduled. Check the Range Workgroup page for details.
To receive credit for your efforts, a Work Hours Form must be completed and submitted. Forms are available in the clubhouse or can be downloaded and printed from the link below.
