The HLSC Black Powder Range is located on the north side of the clubhouse at 2929 Tower Hill Road in Houghton Lake. This range area is for Black Powder firearms only and no other firearms are permitted for use on that range. This range has 25 & 50 yard target carriers. Black powder shooters can also use the main outdoor Rifle Range.
IMPORTANT NOTE
During the Black Powder League season on Tuesday afternoons, the indoor ranges in the clubhouse may not be used. Participants in the league walk along the back wall of the clubhouse to change targets. Observing a “safety first” protocol, we want to avoid the possibility that exists of any rounds penetrating through the back wall of the indoor range into the open area on the muzzle-loader range. Signs are posted on the clubhouse door indicating when the Black Powder League is in session, and that the indoor ranges cannot be used.
